Sunday 30 November 2025
We are still having technical trouble getting the videos up and posted but here is a summary of our service on 30 November.
"Awake With Hope"
On this first Sunday of Advent, today's scripture readings call us to watch, to wait, and to stay alert for God's coming. What does it mean to keep awake with hope during this season?
Thank you to Alan James for the Advent Candle Lighting, Brenda Haward for our Scripture readings, Davy Young for the Intercessions, Uli Doerr, Bob Wilson and the choir for the beautiful music . And special thanks to Pastora Judy Davis for bringing us what it means to keep awake with hope.
"New Heavens and a New Earth"
In today's reading from Isaiah, we hear a radical vision of new heavens and a new earth - not a distant heaven, but this world transformed, where children thrive, labour bears fruit, and communities live in peace. Guest preacher Tom Davis invites us to consider how God invites us to participate in bringing these promises to life, one act of compassion at a time.
Thank you to Alan James for our Scripture readings, Helen Tudor for the Intercessions, Uli Doerr for playing the organ and José Cueto for recording the service. Special thanks to Tom Davis for bringing us this look at the New Heavens and New Earth as portrayed in Isaiah.

"Gaining Perspective"
In today's gospel reading from Luke, we meet Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector who climbs a sycamore tree to see Jesus passing through Jericho. What begins as a man seeking a better view becomes an encounter that transforms everything - his perspective, his priorities, and his life. Watch the video to find out more.
Thank you to Megan Wright for our scripture readings, Jeremy Brayshaw for our Intercessions and José Cueto for recording the service. But as always, special thanks to Pastora Judy for bringing us this message on Gaining Perspective.
