1. Who we are

This website is operated by the Iglesia Evangélica Española (IEE), CIF R2800564C, Calle Noviciado 5, 28015 Madrid, acting through its congregation La Siesta Evangelical Church (LSEC), Calle Granados 21, La Siesta, 03184 Torrevieja (Alicante), Spain.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact: info@lasiestaevangelicalchurch.org

2. What personal data we collect and why

  • Contact messages. We use the name and email address you send us through our contact form or by email to reply to you. Legal basis: your consent.

  • Mailing list. We use the names and email addresses on our church mailing list to send news, newsletters and notices of services. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: your consent.

  • Donor details. For donors who wish to claim tax relief, we use their name and NIE/DNI to record their gifts and include them in the IEE’s annual donation report to the Spanish tax authorities. Legal basis: legal obligation.

  • Membership and giving records. We keep records of church membership and gifts to administer the life of the congregation. Legal basis: the legitimate activities of a religious body with regard to its members and regular contacts.

Because information about church membership or gifts to a church can reveal religious belief, we treat it with particular care. Membership records are seen only by the pastor, the Elders, the Treasurer and the Assistant Treasure, and only for the life and work of the congregation. Records of individual gifts are seen only by the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and the Pastor. We never share either except as described in this policy.

3. Online giving

Online gifts are processed by SumUp. We never see or store your card details. SumUp gives us only the amount, the date, and the card type and last four digits. SumUp handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.

4. Other services we use

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website

  • Google (Workspace email, Analytics, Ads) and YouTube, for email, website statistics and our worship videos

  • Facebook, for our church page

Some of these companies process data outside the European Union, under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

5. Cookies

This website uses cookies that are essential for it to work. With your consent, it also uses analytics and advertising cookies from Squarespace and Google, and YouTube cookies when you play a video. You can accept, decline or choose cookies in the banner when you first visit, and change your choice at any time with the Manage cookies link.

6. How long we keep your data

Donation records are kept for as long as Spanish tax law requires. Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages sent to us are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.

7. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy of it, by writing to the address in section 1. You also have the right to complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

8. Legal notice

This notice is provided under Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services (LSSI) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679), together with Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).
