“Building Up Our Foundation”

In today's scripture lessons, Paul calls us to clothe ourselves with Christ's character while Jesus reminds us that what we cultivate in our hearts flows out in how we treat one another. Building a strong church foundation happens as we grow through spiritual practices and become people who build others up through our words and actions, creating a community where everyone can flourish in faith.

Thank you to Roz Dimbleby for our scripture readings, to Gordon Newlands for our Intercessions, to Jeanie Cooper, Bob Wilson and the choir for the music, and to José Cueto for recording the service. But most of all to Pastora Judy for a very interesting and informative sermon.

“Laying Our Foundation“Today's scripture lessons gives us two different ways of understanding what it means to lay our foundation as a community of faith. The apostle Paul offers the image of the body of Christ as a metaphor for a healthy community that recognizes that we are all interconnected – each person essential, each gift valued. Jesus' parable of the wise builder reminds us that lasting community requires a solid foundation, much like building a house on rock instead of shifting sands. We live in a time of great change, which is both a challenge and an opportunity for our church to build something beautiful and lasting - a community where everyone belongs and contributes, anchored in the solid rock of Christ's love.

Thank you to Dot Colling for our scripture readings, Sharon Rippon for our Intercessions, and José Cueto for recording the service. But most of all thanks to Pastora Judy for bringing us this Inspiring and thought-provoking message of how each of us fits into the Body of Christ.Congregation. 29

“Treasures of the Heart" (Luke 12:32-40)
Jesus teaches that "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." What do our own investments of time, energy, and resources reveal about our spiritual commitment and true priorities? Christ calls us to treasure what truly matters: relationships, justice, mercy, and compassion, while staying ready for service with hearts aligned to God's kingdom values.
Thank you to Davy Young for our scripture readings, Rick Boyle for our Intercessions, José Cueto for recording the service, Uli Doerr for playing the organ, Rick Boyle & Tom Davis for leading us in our new music, and most of all to Pastora Judy for explaining what it means when we store our treasures where our heart is.

“A Place at the Table”

In today’s gospel reading from Luke 14, Jesus challenges both host and guests at a dinner party by teaching about true hospitality - not the comfortable entertaining of friends and family, but the radical welcome that makes room for those who cannot return the favour. Today we'll explore what it means to set God's table where everyone has a place..

Thank you to Brenda Hamilton for our scripture readings, Helen Tudor for our Intercessions, Uli Doerr for the music, and José Cueto for recording the service., and most of all to Pastora Judy for showing us what it means to give hospitality to all people.

"Being Rich Toward God"
Today during worship, we explore what it means to be truly rich - not in the ways the world measures wealth, but in the ways of God's kingdom.
In today's reading from Luke's gospel, we hear a story often referred to as the Parable of the Rich Fool. Through its message, Jesus challenges us to examine where we find our security and what we consider true wealth. In a world focused on accumulation, what does it mean to be "rich toward God"?

Thank you to Brian Todd for our scripture readings, Gordon Newlands for our Intercessions, and José Cueto for recording the service.  But most of all thanks to Pastora Judy for explaining what it means to be Rich Toward God.
