19 November 2023. Today we heard about talents - not the talents or gifts we have to do things well, but the talent as a coin. In ancient days a talent was worth a huge amount of money and various amounts of talents were entrusted to three servants. While their master was away, two of the servants doubled the amount they had been given but the third was scared and buried it to keep it safe - and it produced no gain. Is this equivalent to the words of Jesus? If we live our lives sharing his words, living peacefully and loving our neighbours - we will be sharing “the talents of the master” and helping to create a better world. Many thanks to Dot Collins for reading the Scriptures, to Pastora Krista for the Intercessions and leading us today, and to José Cuesto for recording the service, and David Sanders for uploading to our web site

26 November 2023 – “King of Kings Sunday”. We hear about this King – Jesus Christ. He is not the kind of king we are used to. He was born into poverty, was a wandering prophet, a friend to sinners, an enemy to the Roman Empire and crucified as a criminal. We honour the way he shows compassion to those who are weak, the way he views each of us as valuable, and - no matter who we are, what we've been through, where we are on our life's journey - the way he welcomes us into his Kingdom, into his family, into his heart. Thanks to Pastora Krista for leading our service, to Howard Cook for reading the Scriptures, to Pastora Jeanie for the Intercessions and to José Cueto for recording the service and David Sanders for uploading to our web site.

November 12, 2023: Remembrance Sunday

Today is a very special service when we remember those who sacrificed their lives for us in both world wars. Initially Remembrance Day was celebrated on the eleventh day of the 11th month at 11am. That is November 11th at 11am, why? It’s to remind everyone that the guns on the Western front fell silent on that day, thus bringing an end to the war. Many thanks to Pastora Jeanie Cooper for leading the service, to Pastora Krista for leading the intercessions, to Uli Doerr for playing the organ, to Bob Wilson for leading our Choir and to all our readers: Davy Young, Geoff Cooper, Dot Colling, Brian Todd and Howard Cook.

Martin Luther King Jr gave a speech about his dream of the future, but he was assassinated the next day and never saw his dream fulfilled. Today we learn about Moses as God shows him the Promised Land – a land that Moses never lived in as he died before he could journey there. As Christians we work towards the Promised Land - the Kingdom of God where everyone lives together in peace and harmony as one family. But many of us will die before it is achieved. Many thanks to Rick Boyle for reading the Scriptures, to Gordon Newlands for our Intercessory Prayers to José Cueto for recording the service and to David Sanders for uploading the service to the web site.
