Weddings at La Siesta

If you would like to know more about the regulations or about getting married in La Siesta Evangelical church,
please contact Pastora Krista.

Surrounded by trees, our pretty white church is an ideal location for getting married. However, getting married in Spain is not a simple matter unless you have been resident here for some time.

To get married in Spain, one of the parties must either be a Spanish national or be recognized as a Spanish resident, with the correct paperwork and at least one years’ residence in Spain. The paperwork to arrange this is very complicated and can be obtained from the Consulate of your home country in Alicante.

Unfortunately, the paperwork has to be completed by the couple and neither the church nor the Consulate can help.

The more usual service, and the one that is most often performed in our church, is that of a wedding blessing. The couple get married in a civil registry and return to Spain for the blessing ceremony.

The Wedding Blessing Service takes the form of a traditional wedding, with exchange of rings etc. The only difference is in the wording of parts of the service. As you can see from our photo gallery, the wedding blessings have all the trappings of full weddings. It is also possible to bless a marriage during the church worship on Sunday morning.
